What do we do?

Provide opportunities for the congregation to be involved in projects and activities, so we can all become disciples who serve God, each other, and support the community.

Why do we do this?

Because Jesus said, "...but whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you you must be your slave; just as the Son of Man came not be served but to serve..." Matthew 20:26-28

How do we do this?

1. Increase awareness...

by raising the congregation's awareness of service opportunities;

- Conduct service opportunities campaigns (Vital Spark, Minute for Missions, promotional videos)

- Help all small groups select targets for their service efforts (provide numerous serbvivce options for each small group, as requested)

2. OUT-Reach...

by leading and supporting efforts to serve locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally;

- Mission trips (short-term, long-term, locally, out-of-state, middle school, high school, mixed age groups)

- Service activities (Habitat for Humanity, Circle of Concern, Salvation Army Tree of Lights, Red Cross Blood Drives, etc.)

- Participate in and financially support local and worldwide ministries (Operation Christmas Child, Heifer Project, Olive Branch, Mission Gage Prison Ministry, Food Outreach, Sunshine Ministries, Neighborhood Houses, etc.)

3. IN-Reach...

by providing opportunities for members to serve our own church family;

- Help to maintain the church property (grass cutting, painting, general maintenance, all-church work days)

- Involve members in doing the little things needed to keep God's house in order,

- Members' assistance efforts (meals to families, lawn work)

  • Service has strong involvement in local community events, programs, and projects.
  • Worldwide ministries include Samaritan's Purse, Heifer Project, and some special DW projects.
  • There are specific groups or people in the Service Ministry Group who are responsible for specific ministries: Blood Drives; Circle of Concern; Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army; Circle of Concern Christmas Tree; Samaritan's Purse; Sunshine Ministries; thanksgiving Dinner.
  • Our Property Ministry Group works to maintain the Church property, performing general maintenance jobs, painting, landscaping, grass-cutting, and outdoor care, etc.
  • The Outreach Budget is established annually by the Service Ministry Team, decisions being based on Pastor recommendation, areas of past support, new concerns in our area, CCC affiliations, and local, national, and international need.
  • Note: We don't meet on a regular basis. Instead, when a need arises -- we come together and meet the need.

How can you be involved?

Pray for CCC,

Pray about what you can do,

Pray about where you fit in and how you can help.

Service is God's Love in action.

Find a way to share God's Love.
