CHILDRENS MINISTRY
Purpose:
To nurture the faith of children by implementing and maintaining creative
and effective programs for all children who attend.

SUNDAY MORNING
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION |
Nursery: The Nursery is available for infants-2 year olds from 8:45-Noon each Sunday. It is staffed by our paid nursery attendant, Mary Ann Sieb. She has adult volunteers who help her when needed.
Toddler Class: The Toddler class is offered at 9:00 and 10:30 each Sunday (during both services) for children who were 2 years old as of July 31, 2008. This class provides a transition from the Nursery environment to a classroom environment.
Preschool: The Preschool class is offered at the 10:30 service for 3, 4, and 5 year olds. At 9:00 the preschoolers are dismissed from the sanctuary after the Children’s Moment to go to the nursery. The preschool class uses the "Live Big!" curriculum.
Elementary: Children in elementary school are dismissed from the sanctuary, during the 10:30 church services, after the Children’s Moment to go to Sunday School. Children are grouped by age/grade. Each class has an adult teacher and helper. "Live Big!" is the curriculum used. During the 9:00 service, elementary aged children stay in the Sanctuary and worship with their parents. Quiet activities are available at the Sanctuary door that can be taken to the pews during the service then returned at the conclusion of the service.

MISSION
PROJECTS |
The Sunday School classrooms collect offering each Sunday to go toward a designated mission project. We have collected money to go towards food and school supplies for Circle of Concern, personal hygiene items and toys for Operation Christmas Child, nets and blankets to be distributed around the world through Church World Service, and animals for the Heifer Project, along with many other items and organizations.

GOD'S KIDS CHOIR |
God’s Kids Choir (GKC) is open to children from Kindergarten through 5th grade. Practices are held each Sunday from 5-6pm in the church choir room or sanctuary. The choir has 2 musical drama performances each year (December and May) and also occasionally sings during church services. There is no choir during the summer.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL |
Vacation Bible School (VBS) is held for a week each July. Children age 3 through 5th grade are welcome to attend. VBS runs each morning from 9am-Noon. Children are divided by age/grade. VBS has activities during the morning that include music, crafts, recreation, snack, Bible story/skit, and science. Children are lead by adults and youth helpers.
